Glide Elite Front Opening Luggage

Premium luggage, no compromises. The Glide Elite range adds features you won't find on any other Australian suitcase: ZeroRoll wheel brakes that lock your case in place on slopes, a rivetless aluminium frame rigid enough to sit on, and our signature top-opening design.

The Glide Elite is for travellers who want the best. Every detail is upgraded from our standard Glide range: aerospace-grade German polycarbonate shell (70% virgin, 30% recycled), Japanese Hinomoto wheels with a locking brake lever, aluminium frame construction and an interior built for organised packing with packing cubes. Available in carry-on, medium, and large check-in sizes. All Elite cases come with a 10-year warranty and 100-day satisfaction guarantee.

What makes a hardshell suitcase last longer

Most hardshell suitcases use a zipper around the middle to join the two shell halves, and often an expander zipper alongside it. That midsection is the weakest point of the case. Under pressure from baggage handling, stacking, or overpacking, the zipper flexes and the structure loses rigidity. The Glide Elite replaces that midsection zipper with a rivetless aluminium frame. The frame holds the shell rigid under load and gives the case enough structural integrity to sit on without flexing. It's the reason the Glide Elite feels different from a standard hardshell the moment you pick it up.

Wheels are the next component to fail on most suitcases. Budget cases use generic casters that develop flat spots, wobble, and seize within a year or two of regular use. The Glide Elite runs on Japanese Hinomoto wheels with ZeroRoll brake levers that lock the case still on sloped airport floors, train platforms, and cruise ship decks. Hinomoto supplies wheels to several of the world's most recognised luggage brands for a reason: they're engineered for hundreds of thousands of rotations.

The shell is aerospace-grade German polycarbonate, a material that flexes under impact and returns to shape rather than cracking. The 70/30 virgin-to-recycled blend maintains structural performance while reducing virgin plastic use. Every Glide Elite ships with a 10-year warranty, which reflects how long we expect these cases to last under real travel conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I go for the Large Check-In or Medium Check-In?
It depends on how much you usually pack and how long you tend to travel for. The Medium is great for 2 week trips, and the Large for anything longer.
Does it come in other sizes?
Yes, the Glide Elite comes as a full set – Carry-On Pro (32L), Medium Check-In (65L) and Large Check-In (95L). All sizes share the same features: Zero Roll wheel lock, top-open architecture, aluminium frame, and 10-year warranty.
Does it have an expander?
No. The aluminium frame that gives the Glide Elite its rigidity replaces the standard expander. The frame keeps its shape under load – you won't get the dipping or bending you see in zip-frame cases.
What's the warranty on the Glide Elite?
All Glide Elite luggage is backed by a 10-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship. If something breaks that shouldn't, reach out to our local Australian customer service team and we'll make it right – no complicated claims process.
Can I fit packing cubes inside?
Yes, and it's the intended use. The top-open design was built with packing cubes in mind – you can drop them in from above, organised exactly how you want them, and they sit flat without shifting. Our own compression packing cubes are sized to fit perfectly, but any standard travel cube works.
How does the Zero Roll wheel brake actually work?
There's a slim lever on the side of the case, just near the carry handle. Slide it to engage Zero Roll – the front wheels lock instantly. Press the button to release. No electronics, no fuss. One second, and your bag isn't going anywhere.
How are the Glide Elite suitcases extra sturdy?
The Glide Elite is made from Aerospace-grade German polycarbonate which resists cracking and impact. This extra strong material is reinforced with a rivetless aluminium frame around the sides of the case, which adds strength and resilience without adding too much weight. It really is the best of Polycarbonate and Aluminium luggage.
What makes top-opening suitcases better than traditional luggage?
Top-opening suitcases open like a book, eliminating the space needed for clamshell opening. Perfect for cramped hotel rooms, you can access all your belongings from above without the bulk of traditional opening mechanisms.
Do you offer luggage with theft-proof features?
Yes, our travel bags include RFID-blocking pockets, lockable zippers, and anti-theft design elements. Many feature hidden compartments and slash-resistant materials for added security.
